Brisingr
I now finished the third book to Eragon, Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. Brisingr starts out with Eragon and Roran at the base of Helgrind.They plan to fly on Saphira to the top of Helgrind and defeat the Ra'zac and there steads the Lethrblaka. At camp Roran shows Eragon what the Ra'zac did to his shoulder and Eragon heals it for him.The next morning they fly to Helgrind when they land Saphira's wing passes through it making Helgrind an illusion. They get inside an they get attacked by the Ra'zac and Lethrblaka. While Eragon and Roran fight off the Razac ( Eragon with a staff since he no longer has Zar'roc and Roran with his hammer) Saphira fights the Lethrblaka and they notice the creatures have wards on them deflecting magic and fire. Saphira kills one Lethrblaka while the other sends the two of them stumbling out of Helgrind. The Ra'zac run deeper into Helgrind. They kill one Ra'zac but the other one flees. Eragon and Roran find Katrina and free her. While rescuing Katrina, Eragon finds a cell with the butcher Sloan. Sloan's eyes have been pecked out by the Ra'zac's sharp beaks.Eragon leaves the Butcher and helps Roran get Katrina out, Eragon then decides it would be better to leave the information about Sloan a secret. Eragon doesn't tell anyone about Sloan not even Saphira who had returned from killing the last Lethrblaka. Eragon decides to stay behind and kill the last Ra'zac and to free Sloan. Reluctant to leave him by himself Saphira flies Roran and Katrina back to the Varden. Eragon rescues Sloan and nearly kills himself lifting him and Sloan down Helgrind with magic. Eragon accidentally learns Sloan's true name. Eragon sends him to Ellesmera. Eragon runs all the way to a town near Surda where he finds Arya. He and Arya travel to Surda evading soldiers.When they get to the Varden Roran asks Eragon to be the priest of his and Katrina's wedding. On the day of the wedding the Varden are attacked by 300 immortal humans ( by immortal, Galbatorix made the men feal no pain and the only way to kill them was to chop of there heads). Eragon and Saphira have to fight Murtagh and Thorn. Accompanied by 12 of Izlanzadi's spellcasters Eragon and Saphira almost defeat Murtagh and Thorn but unfortunately they fly off before they could do so.
After the war The Varden and the villagers of Charvahall attend Roran and Katrina's wedding.
A couple of days after the wedding Nausuada orders Eragon to go to Farthen Dur as a member of Durgrimst Ingetnium to attend the clan chiefs to decide who the next king will be. While there Eragon gets attacked by Az Sweldn rak Anhuin a dwarf clan that threatened Eragon in the book Eldest, and are banished for violating there rule not to attack a guest. And Orik is made the new King. Eragon and Saphira fly to Elesmera to continue there training with Oromis and Glaedr.In Ellesmera they found the steel Brightsteel underneath the roots of the Menoa Tree which is used to make the Rider's swords which answers one of Solembum's riddles when the time is right and you need a weapon look under the roots of the Menoa Tree. Eragon and Saphira help Rhunon the elves smith forge him a sword.The sword was the same color as Saphira's scales. Eragon named the sword Brisingr and everytime he said it his sword burst into flame.While there Eragon learns that Brom the Storyteller of Carvahall was his father and that he and Murtagh are half brothers. When they are needed back at the Varden they ready themselves to leave before they go though Oromis and Gleadr give them a precious gift Glaedr's Eldunari ( a dragon's heart of hearts which after the dragon dies alows the Eldunari's caretaker to draw upon the dragon's strength and they can hear its thoughts) and they say that they are leaving Ellesmera to help Islanzadi and the elves. The company leaves together and then depart at the edge of Du Weldenvarden. Eragon and Saphira reach Feinister where the Varden have attacked. While they fight along side the Varden Eragon, Saphira and Arya encouter a Shade. But while he was fighting the Shade Gleadr's eldunari showed him everything that was happening to him and Oromis and they were fighting Murtagh and Thorn when Galbatorix took Control of Murtagh's body and while he was fighting Murtagh/ Galbatorix Oromis had one of his seizures and Galbatorix took the advantage and killed him. When Eragon returned back to himself he found the Shade dead and that Arya had killed it.
I really like these books for numerous reasons mainily because you feel as though you can feel everything the character felt because Paolini is such a good author and he describes everything so well.I have read these books numorous times and each time I read it I catch something I didn't get before.And every detail is important because it always leads to something bigger.And I really can't wait until the 4th book comes out.
